Hurworth Burn Reservoir to Crookfoot Reservoir and back
Date:

Distance:

Time:
4 hours

A wander between two reservoirs.

At 15K this was one of the longer walks, but not too far away for Tiggy to travel, just a little oop North near Wingate. Parking at Hurworth Burn Railway Path Car Park it was a clockwise loop through fields and along tracks, passing through Cole Hill Farm and visiting Crookfoot Reservoir.

Following the Castle Eden Walkway South and turning off left, most of the hike was on some nice tracks and paths.

Most of the route was well signposted and easy to follow...

Some routes were a little more...tricky...

And some, not so tricky...

Tricky or not it was worth it for the views. This one was at the most Easterly part of the hike by Winterly Hill Plantation.

And these of Crookfoot Reservoir.

A couple more pics I took along the way.

A few friends we made along the way.

From the reservoir it was time to head West until we got back to the Castle Eden Walkway and headed North. We followed the walkway in part, but where possible we took a more cross country route until we got back to Tiggy.
