This was based on a trek I did with Mam and Aunty Christine many years ago, parking at Lordstones Country Park and heading up Carlton Bank then turning left and crossing the Moor. I think the path I took followed that old route.
Leaving the car park via the road entrancee, turning left and following the road for a short while until you get to the Cleveland Way signpost.
Follow the path up Carlton Bank to the trig point.
At the trig point turn left and head over the moors. It was here where I spotted a paraglider waiting for the wind, he was looking a little...deflated.
Keeping heading south over the moors along the track for a couple of miles.
Past Brian's Pond.
Eventually there is a downhill track where you follow the path to the left in an easterly direction.
Continue on the same path, through this gate towards Raisdale Mill.
Then the path got muddy, a regular cow path, so it wasn't all mud 💩.
The culprits couldn't believe I was heading down that path, "Pull the udder one".
One cow inparticular was really wanting a good view of me slipping over.
After making it down the path, turn left through Raisdale Mill and follow the path through the forest.
After clearing the forest these are the views of Wath Hill. You follow Raisdale Beck for some of the way and it can get a bit marshy here.
It's then a case of heading north for around another mile through fields back to Lordstones
