Cornwall 2018
Date:
3-6 July 2018

Cornwall 2018.

The first proper Tiggy Tour and by far the longest at 400 miles and 8 hours of driving! This was to a family wedding on the South coast of Cornwall, so we fueled up Tiggy and set off.

Due to the distance there were a couple of stop off points on the way, one being Wookey Hole which was a bit busy so we just stopped for a short while to use the facilities and take a couple of pics.

The trip was pretty uneventful, the only issue being when we arrived in Cornwall and the Sat Nav taking us to what at first looked like a bridge outside Plymouth, but turned out to be a ferry crossing! Checkout the Sat Nav pic below, very bridge looking isn't it.

Landing at Torpoint we headed through the Cornish roads to our destination for the week Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Park.

Over 400 miles and 8 1/2 hours!

Whitsand Bay Fort was once a Napoleonic coastal fort and still has lots of remains of the old fort.

And in the distance, the wedding venue, Polhawn Fort.

Yachts and a battle ship in the distance.

The day after the wedding, a family breakfast.

Other locations visited during this Tour included the Eden Project which has a link to its own page here.

A week in Cornwall wouldn't be complete without a trip to a castle, this time it was Restormel Castle where we exercised our English Heritage cards.

We also had a trip to the Looe.

After a lovely, sunny week of ferries, forts, weddings and castles, it was time to head home. Stopping off at Cheddar Gorge on the way.

Finally home after 10 hours of driving. Tiggy didn't miss a beat the whole trip and the adaptive cruise control certainly helped me as I didn't feel tired at all.
