Maes Yr Hendre holiday cottage

A week in North Wales

After a busy start to 2024 for Ruby of snoozing and lazing it was decided she deserved a holiday. After a LOT of searching by Rubys mam for the perfect cottage, Maes Yr Hendre holiday cottage was picked.

The cottage is over 200 miles away so we stopped halfway to give Tiggy a rest and Ruby a picnic at Ribblehead Viaduct.

After a rest we were ready to continue on our way to North Wales. After an hour or so of boring motorways and A roads it was time to get adventuring onto single file roads as we headed to the cottage.

Our first view of the cottage.

A couple more pics of outside the cottage.

Tiggys spot for the week.

Ruby picked her room.

A few more pics of inside the cottage.

The route below is the local walk we did.

And some pics from that walk.

After a week of chilling out and hiking about gardens, ruins, rivers, waterfalls and mountain climbing (see the other Tours linked at the bottom of the page), we packed up and headed for home.

This time, to break up the long drive, we stopped off for a picnic by Torside Reservoir. Parking at the Torside Car Park (Pay and Display parking with toilets!) and following a gravel path to the picnic spot.

A couple of photos are below, I didn't take many as my concentration went due to various stations along the way where you can listen to Brian Blessed describing the area and reservoirs.
