The Buttertubs

The Buttertubs, limestone potholes with a view.

On one of the best driving roads in Britain, the Buttertubs Pass has lots of wonderful views as you head between Wensleydale and Swaledale. With this parking spot by the side of the road right next to the Buttertubs themselves. Step out to stretch your legs and admire the Buttertubs which farmers reportedly used to cool their butter on the way to market.

For once Tiggy wasn’t left on her own, the Buttertubs are just by the side of the road so even Tiggy got a view.
